Now that the much awaited Downton Abbey is back on our screens, I have not stopped admiring Lady Mary's flawless and minimalist make up. So I thought I would take you through how to get the Downtown look for the modern girl!

Skin. To correct any dullness in your skin and to give you that dewy appearance start with a primer such as the new Clinique Superprimer Face Primer Colour Corrects Dullness, which smooths as it corrects.  Follow with a brightening foundation that will be hydrating and lightweight on the skin, my all time favourite is Nars Sheer Glow.

Eyes. You want to keep them very understated so leave the lids bare and just brush two coats of your favourite mascara on the lashes.

Eyebrows. Tidy up your brows by brushing through a clear brow gel to give them a natural look. Blink Eyebrow Grooming Gel in nourishes the brows whilst keeping them in place all day.

Cheeks & Lips. To finish your English rose complexion give your cheeks a lasting glow with Soap & Glory Cheekmate.  Just add a small amount to your forefinger and blend in to the apples of your cheeks. Cheekmate can all so be conveniently used as a lip tint if you want to add a natural rose colour to your lips.

Voila! You are now ready for afternoon tea with the Dowager Countess!
